Education reform
The poor quality of education in Pakistan manifests itself in the form of the absence of critical thinking among students. Our current education system has been designed in such a way that it lacks the capability to inculcate the values of logical reasoning and analytical skills, which not only gives a severe blow to creativity but also aggravates the students’ chances to realize their true potential. Plainly put, the current system is archaic.
The syllabus has not been meaningfully updated for a long time. The gravity of the situation can be gauged from the fact that the country is faced with all sorts of socio-economic and political problems, the underlying cause of which is, in my view, the failing education system. The new government needs to pay attention to education and initiate meaningful reforms.
