QWP demands audit of votes
PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial Chairman Sikandar Sherpao on Monday demanded an audit of the votes and said his party would write a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to look into the discrepancies in the electoral exercise.
Speaking at a press conference here, he said that checking the Form-46 showed a disparity between ballot papers and votes, adding that such elections could not bring stability. He said that if everyone was complaining that the election was rigged who had won it? He said that it was a question mark on the system and was a test of the Election Commission of Pakistan. He said that the polled votes were more than the turnout in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The QWP leader demanded a mechanism that could restore the trust of the people in the system. He said that when everyone was complaining about the system then it must be faulty.Sikandar said that billions of rupees were spent on an exercise, which was not acceptable to anyone. He said the recent general elections were rigged on the pattern of the 2018 polls.
