MQM-P workers booked for attacking PPP activists in Malir
Police on Monday registered a case against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement - Pakistan (MQM-P) workers for allegedly attacking the Pakistan Peoples Party activists in the Malir area.
An FIR, 105/24, under Sections 147, 148, 337A(i), 337F(i), 427, 435 and 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered at the Malir City police station on the complaint of Muhammad Saeed, brother of PPP worker Aamir who was wounded during the clash. The case includes charges of rioting, intimidation, threats of violence and physical assaults among others. Around 30 MQM-P workers have been named in the case.
The violence was attributed to the display of party flags and banners in the area, and it was noted in the FIR that the culprits would be taught a lesson so that no one else would dare to do the same.
Police are conducting raids to arrest the suspects named in the FIR. Further investigations are underway.
