Man shot dead over monetary issue
LAHORE: A man was shot dead and his son was injured by brother of a former MPA in Raiwind City.The victim Maqsood Gujjar reportedly ran a milk shop in Chamru Village. He had a financial dispute with the suspect Naseer Gujjar reportedly brother of Khalid Gujjar. The suspects on the day of the incident reached his shop and after an altercation opened fire. The victim Maqsood and his son received bullet injuries. Maqsood succumbed to injuries. Body was moved to morgue.
12 robbers arrested
Organised Crime Unit South has arrested 12 members of three robber gangs. This has been revealed by SP Organised Crime Unit (OCU) South Aftab Phularwan while speaking at OCU headquarters in Township.
He said that over Rs10 million, cash, tractor and illegal weapons were recovered from their custody. The arrested suspects were identified as Tassawar Abbas, Shaukat Ali, Babar Ali, Usman alias Shani, Nazir, Ali Sher, Shahzad, Ibrar Ahmad, Abbass, Javed, Farhan Anwar and M Saleem.
He said that cases were registered against them in Chuhng, Nishter Colony, Mandi Faizabad. They were involved in at least four murder cases registered in these areas. The accused persons few days back had abducted a citizen identified as Ashfaq and dumped his body into a canal by chopping it into pieces with an axe. A citizen Shahzad was shot at over resistance during robbery in Chuhng by the suspects.
12 die in road accidents in 24 hours
Around 12 people died, whereas 1,024 were injured in 944 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 451 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 573 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
