UHS announces merit list of private medical colleges

Sharif Medical and Dental College was declared as top merit in medical/dental college after it achieved highest merit in both medicine and dental disciplines

LAHORE:The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Wednesday announced the merit list of private medical and dental colleges in Pakistan.

The Sharif Medical and Dental College was declared as top merit in medical/dental college after it achieved the highest merit in both medicine and dental disciplines, leading the rankings with impressive percentages in both fields. The minimum merit for MBBS remains 79.0500 percent and 76.1091 percent for BDS in private medical and dental colleges. The top three colleges included Sharif Medical and Dental College, Lahore, with last merit at 89.3136 percent, 88.0232 percent for FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, Lahore, and 87.1045 percent for Al Aleem Medical College, Lahore. SMDC Chief Executive Dr Adnan Khan said the SMDC Lahore, under the patronage of Chairman Sharif Trust former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, is an academic institute par excellence, distinguished by its achievement of top merit and its commitment to attracting and nurturing the brightest minds in healthcare education.

Farewell

A farewell was arranged in honour of Prof Shehzad Shamas, who served in Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS).

Executive Director PINS Prof Asif Bashir said that Prof Shehzad Shamas is undoubtedly an asset to neuro department. He lauded the services of Prof Shehzad Shamas in the field of neurosurgery. Prof Muhammad Nazir, Prof Abdullah, Prof Anwar Chaudhry, Prof Hameed, Prof Raja Masood, Prof Mohsin Zaheer and many neurosurgeons from across Punjab participated in the ceremony and expressed their best wishes for the success of Prof Shehzad Shams.
