PESHAWAR: The father of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) fugitive leader Murad Saeed has approached the Peshawar High Court (PHC) to seek bail for his son and the details of the cases registered against him.
Saeedullah is going to file a writ petition in the PHC today (Tuesday) through his lawyer Shah Faisal Uthmanzai Advocate.
The petition is to request the PHC to order the police to stop harassing and arresting the family members of the former federal minister, who went into hiding since May 9 attacks on the military installations.
In the writ petition, his father has taken the plea that his son Murad Saeed was a leader of the PTI and served as federal minister for communications.
He said that several cases were registered against his son after former prime minister Imran Khan was ousted from power through the no-confidence motion in April 2022 and the attacks on the army installations on May 9, 2023.
Saeedullah said that he had approached the provincial government to seek the details of the cases registered against his son, but authorities did not oblige him.
He alleged that the police were conducting raids on his residence and hujra besides harassing his relatives.
The petitioner said that Murad Saeed was a law-abiding citizen and his rivals were subjecting him to victimization.
