Tessori for effective policing to curb street crime
Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has said the relevant provincial authorities should adopt an effective policing strategy to eliminate the menacing problem of street crime in Karachi.
He stated this on Monday as he met Caretaker Home Minister Brig (retired) Haris Nawaz at the Governor House on Monday. The meeting considered the strategy being used against street crime incidents in the city, steps being taken to ensure peaceful conduct of general elections, and other issues of mutual interest.
The governor said on the occasion that every possible step should be taken by the interim provincial government to protect the lives and belongings of the people in the province. He directed the home minister to effectively use the network of CCTV cameras and enhance police patrolling to prevent instances of street crime in the city.
He said the Sindh government should take steps to ensure foolproof security for the peaceful conduct of polling for the general elections. The home minister briefed the governor about the steps being taken by the government to maintain law and order in the province.
