Quaid-i-Azam’s vision submerged in dogma, extremism, laments CM
President Dr Arif Alvi, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Interim Chief Minister Justice (retired) Maqbool Baqar and members of the provincial cabinet visited together the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to pay homage to the founder of Pakistan on his birth anniversary on Monday.
Earlier, the governor and the CM welcomed the president on his arrival at the Mazar-e-Quaid.
The three top dignitaries laid floral wreaths and prayed for the founder of Pakistan. They also recorded their remarks in the visitors’ book to pay homage to the Quaid-i-Azam. Top civil and military officials, senior bureaucrats, and members of the city’s administration were also present on the occasion.
In his remarks recorded in the visitors’ book, the chief minister said Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s vision of a democratic, pluralistic, and secular state had become submerged amidst dogma, extremism, and radicalism prevailing in the Pakistani society.
He wrote: “Today, as we stand here at the birth anniversary of the great Quaid, we would be remiss to not acknowledge that his vision of a democratic, pluralistic, and secular state has become submerged amidst dogma, extremism, and radicalism.”
“Let us strive to work towards a Pakistan where people, irrespective of their religion, class, or gender, are allowed to actualise their potential. A Pakistan where the rule of law reigns supreme, a Pakistan where Jinnah’s vision truly comes to life,” he said in his remarks.
Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that the Quaid-i-Azam was a great leader of the century due to his leadership skills and struggle. Pakistan came into being as the dream of Allama Iqbal, he said, adding that living nations always remember their benefactors and their character and thoughts.
He said Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is our great leader who realized the dream of a separate state for Muslims and “today we are living in our country with complete religious freedom”. Wahab said this at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on his birth anniversary on Monday, where he offered Fateha.
Municipal Commissioner Syed Afzal Zaidi, Deputy Parliamentary Leader in city council Dil Muhammad, Director General Parks Junaidullah Khan, Senior Director of Media Management Ali Hasan Sajid and other departmental heads of the KMC were also with him.
The mayor said the Quaid-i-Azam ensured the establishment of the great kingdom of Pakistan by uniting a scattered nation and establishing an Islamic and ideological state on the map of the world.
“Quaid-i-Azam was a great leader of the world and we are a strong nation and a stable society can be created by following the words and thoughts of Quaid-i-Azam who believed in work, work and only work,” he said. Hope, courage and self-confidence were the message of the Quaid-i-Azam. He said that Quaid-i-Azam said that no power could ever eliminate Pakistan.
