Parveen Shakir’s death anniversary tomorrow
Islamabad:The Parveen Shakir Trust (PST) is all set to observe the 29th death anniversary of Pakistan’s legendary poet Parveen Shakir (died: Dec 26, 1994) on Tuesday (December 26), says a press release.
Literary figures, the poet’s colleagues, friends and the Members of the Trust will assemble at H-8 graveyard at 11.30 am on Tuesday, to pay tribute to the indomitable spirit and literary contributions of one of Pakistan’s most celebrated poets.
Parveen Shakir, a trailblasing figure in Urdu literature, left an indelible mark with her eloquent verses that continue to resonate with readers across the globe. The poet enriched Urdu poetry with her profound words. In order to commemorate her legacy, the Parveen Trust has organized a series of events on the solemn occasion of her 29th death anniversary. Floral wreaths will be laid on the final resting place of the poet followed by Fateha Khwani. This gathering will be an opportunity for attendees to reflect on Parveen’s life and work, as well as to seek blessings for her departed soul Following the wreath-laying ceremony, a Quran Khwani will be held at the residence of Parveen Qadir Agha, PST’s chairperson.
