Rawat police’s private torture cell busted

Rawalpindi: The Rawat police reportedly kidnapped a businessman and instead of shifting him to the police station or to produce him before the court of law, took him to a private torture cell and kept him in illegal custody for 40 days.

The victim on Wednesday, a bailiff recovered him from a house in an unpopulated area of Rawalpindi.

The victim, after getting freedom from police custody, told the media that four captors kidnapped him from his house and confined him in a house in a private housing society and tortured him inhumanly, adding that they got his valuable property worth over Rs 60 million on gunpoint transferred in their name. After producing him before the court of law, the police implicated him in heinous crimes to take his custody.
