PHC seeks details of cases against ex-MPA
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday asked the provincial government to provide the details of all the cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) former Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Mujahid Khan.
A PHC bench consisting of Chief Justice Mohammad Ibrahim Khan and Justice Waqar Ahmad heard the writ petition of the PTI MPA. Syed Sikandar Hayat Shah Advocate appearing for the PTI’s former lawmaker told the court that his client was behind bars at the Mardan jail.
He said that an anti-corruption court had granted bail to Mujahid Khan, but he was arrested in connection with another case. About the repeated arrests of Mujahid Khan, the court asked the additional advocate general why was the government doing so?
He informed the court that an inquiry was being conducted against him and later an FIR was registered after which the arrest was made. The court ordered the government to provide the details of all the cases against the petitioner. The court adjourned the hearing.
