IG, Turkish envoy discuss promotion of working relationship

LAHORE: Turkish Consul General Durmus Bastug visited the Central Police Office and met with IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar on Satuday.

Durmus Bastug emphasised on further promote the working relationship between the Punjab Police and the Turkish Police. Turkish Consul General said that Turkey and Pakistan are brother countries and all steps will be ensured to increase the training standard and technical support to enhance the efficiency of Punjab Police.

IG Punjab said that Punjab Police is benefiting from the experiences of Turkish police in security, law and order control, modern policing, Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit of Punjab Police are excellent first responder units on the pattern of Istanbul-style Turkish police.

Dr. Usman Anwar further said that Punjab Police will send young police officers to Turkey for modern training, Punjab Police is providing fool proof security to Turkish investors and business community in Punjab.

IG Punjab said that there are immense opportunities to increase mutual cooperation between Punjab Police and Turkish Police. IG Punjab visited the envoy to Shaheed wall and Ghazi walls at the CPO. Consul General of Turkey along with IG Punjab also recited Fatiha for high ranks of police martyrs.

House given to family of martyred cop

Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, is taking priority measures for the best welfare of the families of police martyrs, in continuation of which, IG Punjab has given a house to the family of another police officer who sacrificed his life in the line of duty.

According to the details, the family of Sub-Inspector Ijaz Ahmad Shaheed was given a house worth 01 crore 75 lakh rupees according to their own choice. The family of the martyr selected the house in Ameen Town area of Faisalabad, which was bought and provided to them.

Sub-Inspector Ijaz Ahmed Shaheed was martyred in March 2020 in Faisalabad by firing by unknown culprits at the check point. The family members of Ijaz Ahmed Shaheed include his wife, three sons and one daughter. On the special efforts of IG Punjab, the Punjab government released funds for the purchase of house of the martyr's family. Dr. Usman Anwar paid tribute to the eternal sacrifice of Sub-Inspector Ijaz Ahmed Shaheed and said that Sub-Inspector Ijaz Ahmed Shaheed bravely confronted the dangerous culprits without caring for his life. Punjab Police will never forget the sacrifice of their brave son.

Dr. Usman Anwar further said that Punjab Police is the guardian force of more than 1,600 brave martyrs like Sub-Inspector Ijaz Ahmed Shaheed and priority measures will continue for the best welfare of their families.

Rich tribute paid to martyrdom of elite jawans

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has paid rich tribute to the martyrdom of the elite jawans in the accident of the vehicle chasing the accused in Bahawalnagar.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid tribute to the great sacrifice of the martyred martyrs and said that Head Constable Muhammad Kashif and Driver Constable Rizwan Shaukat presented supreme sacrifices and set an example for rest of the force by sacrificing their lives in the line of duty.

IG Punjab issued instructions regarding the treatment of Constable Abdullah Tariq, Mahmood and Constable Majid of Elite Force who were injured in the accident. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar ordered DPO Bahawalnagar to provide the best treatment facilities to the injured jawans.

Usman Anwar directed DPO Bahawalnagar to keep in close touch with the families of martyred Elite Force personnel and ensure immediate resolution of their problems. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that those who sacrifice their lives in the path of duty are our pride, and department will not leave their families alone.

The vehicle of the Elite Force, which was chasing the criminals in Bahawalnagar, went into Canal Rojhanwali more due to dense fog, in which two officials of the Elite Force were martyred while three others were seriously injured.
