Police to display narco dealers pictures at public places

MANSEHRA: The station house officers of the Police Department were on Wednesday ordered to prepare posters of narcotics peddlers along with their pictures and bio-data and put them on display at prominent public places across the district.

“The narcotics peddlers are wandering and mingling with the public without hesitation. You have to prepare their posters with pictures and bio-data and details of cases and put them on display at turnarounds and bazaars,” District Police Officer Zahoor Babar Afridi said while meeting the police officials at his office here.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Superintendents of police, Deputy Superintendents of police, SHOs of all 17 police stations and investigation officers from Mansehra, Balakot, Oghi, Baffa-Pakhal and Darband tehsils.

The District Police Officer acknowledged that the police had launched a crackdown against drug pushers, seized a huge cache of contraband and arrested them.“But people are still unaware of faces of those anti-social elements shattering our generations through injecting drugs into their blood, and we are going to hang posters of 250 narcotics peddlers initially at prominent places, in and outside police stations,” he said.

The District Police Officer also ordered strict action against the celebratory and aerial firing across the district.He said the case of celebratory firing should be lodged against the bridegroom, his father and brothers.
