ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan successfully tested EMS in all the four provinces as part of its preparations for the general elections.
The ECP tested the EMS from the offices of Regional Election Commissioners and District Election Commissioners in various districts. The EMS system has been developed keeping in mind modern requirements. Results can be sent via EMS, both online and offline.
The presiding officers will send the results of their polling stations to returning officers and returning officers will prepare the results and send them digitally and manually to ECP. Each returning officer will be assigned four data entry operators. The ECP has also given training to data entry operators and a server hosting agreement between the ECP and NADRA has also been concluded. The Election Commission does not have its own server to store the data and it will resort to NADRA server and will pay the rent for it.
