JUIF leader shot dead in Nowshera
NOWSHERA: A local leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) was shot dead near a CNG station in Nowshera Kalan here on Friday.
It was learnt that Akbar-ud-Din, who had recently joined the JUIF after quitting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, was traveling in a car when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on them near a CNG station in Nowshera Kalan. The attackers riding on a motorcycle overtook the car and opened fire, leaving the JUIF leader dead and another person wounded. The accused managed to flee the scene after committing the crime. The dead and injured were rushed to the Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex in Nowshera. The injured person was identified as Safar Ali Shah. Another occupant of the car, Akhtar Mohammad, survived the attack and reported the incident to the police. He told the police that they did not have any enmity. The police registered the first information report and started an investigation.
