Fazlur Rehman’s brother to again get higher post
Two senior bureaucrats reinstated in KP
PESHAWAR: Ziaur Rehman, brother of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman and a grade-18 officer of the Provincial Management Service (PMS), has once again been appointed as Commissioner Afghan Refugees.
According to the Ministry of SAFRON sources, the services of Ziaur Rehman, who was previously serving as District Coordination Officer (DCO) of Khushab in Punjab, has been put at the disposal of the Ministry of States and Frontier Region (SAFRON) for further posting as commissioner Afghan Refugees, a scheduled post of grade-20.
Ziaur Rehman had previously also served as commissioner Afghan Refugees under the Ministry of SAFRON that is currently run by former chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a central leader of JUI-F, Muhammad Akram Khan Durrani.
Interestingly, Ziaur Rehman doesn’t belong to any cadre of the civil service. He was among the six officers inducted in the Provincial Management Service (PMS) by the previous governments.
He was originally an employee of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) where he served as Assistant Divisional Engineer.
He was absorbed in the provincial civil service on September 12, 2007 when the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) led by the JUI-F was ruling Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.Subsequently, Ziaur Rehman served on different positions including Commissioner Afghan Refugees and deputy secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Department. Later his services were placed at the disposal of the Establishment Division Islamabad for posting on deputation on February 25, 2014.
He was then posted as DCO of Khushab wherefrom he is now going to be again posted as Commissioner Afghan Refugees.Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government reinstated two senior bureaucrats in service. They were earlier arrested on graft charges. The intervening period of the officers would be treated as on duty.
The Establishment Department issued notification of the reinstatement of Sajid Khan (BS-20) in service. He has been posted as chairman of the now defunct Sarhad Development Authority (SDA). Sajid, a senior bureaucrat, was awaiting posting in the Establishment Department.
The provincial government has also reinstated Zakiullah (BS-20) in service and posted him as Special Secretary Agriculture Department against the vacant post.Zakiullah was among the officials of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) who were arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in 2014 for their alleged involvement in a Rs400 million housing scam. Zakiullah was serving as a member of the Provincial Inspection Team when he was arrested by the NAB.
