Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CAAD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Thursday said that education was not the priority of previous governments, but the current one was taking it seriously.
He was addressing the concluding ceremony of the Social Sciences Expo 2016 organised by the Jang Media Group in collaboration with the Inter-University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences.
The minister said that education was the only solution of all problems in society.
“Social sciences are very important, as they teach people how to live and serve society, whereas other sciences can only make machines, buildings etc,” he said adding that there is a need to promote social sciences more to solve social issues.
Dr. Tariq Fazal appreciated the Jang Media Group for taking the initiative of promoting social sciences through the expo.
He assured full support of the federal government to all universities in the capital.
Earlier, Inter-University Consortium Chairman Dr. Nasser Ali Khan said that the idea of the expo was to promote social sciences and organisers got a good response not only from educationists but also from political leaders who showed their interest and visited the expo.
Earlier, while addressing the gathering, Jang Group Marketing General Manager Syed Amjad Ali said that the Inter-University Consortium has made it possible to successfully promote social sciences. He said next year torganisers plan to make the event even bigger and would invite more universities and students from all over the country.
