ISLAMBAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has prepared a new draft constitution for the party and has recommended removing the post of President of the party.
The draft of the constitution states, that a new national organization be formed and should include the central executive committee, core committee and overseas body.
According to the new draft, members will be elected to the 40-member core committee and the 24 member central executive committee, while the chairman will be elected by 16 members.
All posts in the party will have a tenure of 2 years. According to sources the new constitution also plans on establishing a national level election commission for the party.
Sources add, that a copy of the new constitution has been sent to PTI members of the parliament and other party officials and the draft will be finalized in light of their recommendations.
