King Charles and Queen Camilla lead first day of Royal Ascot

Royal Ascot 2026 has kicked off as King Charles and Queen Camilla arrive along the track in horse-drawn landaus along with other members of the British Royal Family.

On Tuesday, Buckingham palace dropped photos from the event via official Instagram handle of the British royal family.

The cover photo of the post showed the King and the Queen waving as they arrived in horse-drawn carriage.

In the caption, the palace wrote, "The King and Queen have arrived for the first day of Royal Ascot."

Adding, "The day began with the traditional Royal Procession, where members of the Royal Family arrive along the track in horse-drawn landaus."

"@AscotRacecourse was founded by Queen Anne in 1711, and has since received the support of a further twelve monarchs. The Ascot summer race meeting officially became a Royal week in 1911," the palace wrote.

One of the photos from the carousel showed Princess Anne in the carriage, meanwhile other showed the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester in the carriage.

For their look, Queen Camilla wore an elegant blue dress featuring floral embellishments, while King Charles donned classic morning suit and top hat.
