King Charles enters London residence ahead of official birthday

King Charles III on Friday arrived at Clarence House ahead of Trooping the Colour, which marks his official birthday on June 13.

Videos showed the monarch's motorcade entering the royal residence on The Mall in the City of Westminster, London.  

Ahead of Trooping the Colour , the King, as Colonel-in-Chief, and the Queen, as Colonel, presented two new Colours to the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards, said Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.

Trooping the Colour is an annual military ceremony to celebrate the official birthday of the monarch.

While his actual birth date November 14, 1948, he, like many British monarchs before him, officially celebrates a 'second birthday' in the summer.
