Meghan Markle in ‘embarrassing’ spot after biggest Royal snub of the year

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were miles away as cousin Peter Phillips got married last week

Meghan Markle has met with ultimate embarrassment as she remains uninvited to a royal wedding.

The Duchess of Sussex, who left her position as a senior Royal back in 2020 alongside husband Prince Harry, was not welcomed at one of the biggest Royal weddings of the year.

Both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were nowhere to be seen as their first cousin, Peter Phillips tied the knot with Harriet Sperling in England last week.

Speaking about their first hand embarrassment, Royal expert Alicia Liberty says: “It wasn’t a state funeral. It wasn’t a Coronation. It wasn’t one of those grand royal occasions where invitations are dictated as much by duty as they are by personal relationships. This was a wedding. A family wedding - and that is exactly why it matters.”

She writes for Express: “Family weddings are different. You invite the people you want beside you when you celebrate one of the biggest days of your life. You invite the people you feel close to.

“The Royal Family gathered together for another wedding, and the Sussexes were nowhere to be seen. If I were Meghan, I would find that deeply embarrassing,” notes Alicia.

“The fact that it was a relatively private family affair only makes the absence more glaring, because private events reveal what public occasions often hide,” she says.
