Idris Elba was honoured by King Charles III at a ceremony held at Windsor Castle
Dakota Johnson’s mother was prominent among thousands of people who reacted to the British royal family’s announcement that Idris Elba has been honoured by King Charles III for his work with young people.
The royal family shared multiple pictures on Tuesday from the investiture ceremony held at Windsor Castle.
Elba, known for his roles in “Luther” and “The Wire”, was awarded a knighthood for his anti-knife crime campaigning with young people.
Dakota Johnson’s mother, Melanie Griffith, expressed support for the recipients and admiration for the monarch for honoring people for the greater good of the public by liking the Instagram post featuring Elba and others.
Elba was among the hundreds named in King Charles's New Year honours list published in December 2025.
