Maria Shriver is remembering longtime pals, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, in a poignant tribute, calling the couple "really good parents."
The ex-wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger took to her Instagram account on Monday to pen down a heartbreaking tribute for the director and his wife after the couple was found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday.
Shriver shared that she and the couple were among her "closest friends" and they "had dinner" together “this past weekend."
Shriver revealed that she is "devastated, gutted, shocked, stunned, and so deeply saddened" by the shocking news.
Recalling their time together, Shriver continued, "We raised our kids together, from mommy and me on up, we laughed together, we cried together, we played together, we dreamed together."
Noting about her meetup with Rob and Michele last week, Shriver mentioned that "they were in the best place in the their lives."
"Loving one another, loving their friends, their family, their country. They never gave up on our country. They wanted to make it better. They always, always wanted to make our world better, and they were willing to fight to make it the country they loved."
The author further shared, "I loved them, and I knew they loved me, for any friend like that is such a gift. They gave me and all their friends that gift all the time."
She concluded the caption by writing, "I hope people remember them as two deeply talented, kind, fun, loving, good, patriotic people who loved each other deeply. I’ll miss you, Michele. I’ll miss you, Rob. I love you both," she continued. "Thank you for your friendship. God bless you both. Life will not be the same without you here, that’s for sure."
It is pertinent to mention that Rob and Michele's son Nick has been arrested and charged with murder.
