Prince William got emotional and shared a personal message to congratulate Kevin Sinfield, who is nearing the finish line on week of ultramarathons for Rob Burrow.
The future king took to X, formerly Twitter handle and shared the message to congratulate Kevin Sinfield, the rugby coach who has covered more than 250 kilometres as part of his 7 in 7 challenge to raise money for his friend, who was diagnosed with MND in 2019.
Prince William said, “Kevin, huge congratulations on nearing the finish of your incredible 7 in 7 challenge! Your commitment to Rob and everyone affected by MND is truly inspiring. Thank you for shining a light on the need for research and support, and for the hope and example you bring. Look after those knees! W.”
Sinfield is running in memory of his friend and former teammate Rob Burrow, who died in June 2024 after being diagnosed with MND in 2019.
Last month, Kevin Sinfield praised the Prince of Wales as a 'caring guy' after the royal fulfilled his promise to open the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease in Leeds.
Named after the late Rob Burrow CBE, the centre is the first purpose-built facility dedicated entirely to MND care, research, education and holistic support in the UK, and stands as a trailblazer for others around the country.
Kensington Palace had shared the photos of Prince William saying, “It was a pleasure to meet professionals as well as Rob’s family, highlighting the incredible dedication and generosity that brought this vision to life.”
