LeBron James’ iconic two-digit scoring streak of 1297 games finally ends
The Lakers clinched victory over Raptors with a score of 123-120
Lebron James’ historic double-digit scoring streak has finally come to an end after 18 years.
The NBA legend scored 10 or more points in all 1,297 consecutive NBA games since 2007. The journey of a double-digit streak started during his fourth NBA session in 2007. The streak only lasted for 18 years, 19 sessions, 6,907 days.
The 40-year-old basketball player tried hard to maintain his iconic streak. Unfortunately, during Thursday’s match, James attempted 17 shots. Among these shots, only four remained successful, while he missed all five of his 3-point attempts.
As the game moved towards its culmination, James made a pass to Rui Hachimura who managed to score three-pointers as time expired.
While talking in a post-match interview, James said, “Just playing the game the right way. You always make the right play. That’s just been my M.O. That’s how I was taught the game. I have done that my whole career.”
Lakers coach JJ Redick also commented, ““LeBron is acutely aware of how many points he has at that point. He did it like he’s done so many times.”
In the nail-biting match, the Lakers clinched victory over the Toronto Raptors by scoring 123-120.
