Princess Anne caught smiling after Prince Andrew got kicked from Royal Lodge
Princess Anne and Andrew chat, William gives frosty reception
Princess Anne, the ever-dutiful Princess Royal, was all smiles today in Scotland, meeting rugby players at Murrayfield Stadium during the Captain’s Team Run.
Anne's first public outing since her brother Andrew was stripped of his royal title and his sprawling Windsor home.
At 75, she showed once again why she’s considered the hardest working royal and King Charles’s trusted right hand committed, approachable, and very much her own person.
Unlike Andrew, she shuns extravagance, didn’t give her children titles, and keeps her royal duties firmly on track grinning as she interacted with players today.
Despite her composed exterior, Anne is said to be concerned for her younger brother, who still sits ahead of her in the line of succession due to the old male-preference primogeniture laws, now overturned.
Royal expert Richard Kay told Palace Confidential that the Princess Royal and Edward have been “concerned about how he’s handling this intense pressure” and feel a “duty of care” towards him.
The family drama has been playing out quietly in public too. Anne and Andrew were seen chatting at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral last month, while William gave his uncle a frosty reception.
Sources have claimed that Anne, Edward, and Sophie were left disappointed at how King Charles managed the Royal Lodge situation.
