Duchess Sophie will soon be rewarded for her loyalty to the Crown and to public service as she continues to support King Charles during his reign.
Prince Edward and his wife have garnered a pivotal role in the royal family as they appear more prominently in the royal family, right after the Prince and Princess of Wales.
However, according to royal experts, William and Kate had a special role to play in the promotion of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. Royal author Ingrid Seward believes that the bond the two couples share will be crucial once William and Kate take on their destined roles as King and Queen.
Seward told Hello! magazine that Kate and Sophie have a “a sisterly bond” as they share many similar traits.
“They are both incredibly kind girls and have a caring side to them. They are both protective of their children,” she said. “Sophie has had a young family, so she knows what it's like trying to protect them while being in the royal world.”
She noted that Sophie is “like the older sister Kate never had” and even relates to Kate’s scary cancer battle.
“Sophie also has experience of life-threatening illness - she nearly died when her daughter Louise was born. She has been there in the background, as part of a private support network.”
At the same time, Sophie is also a loving aunt to William as they showcased their close bond earlier this month during a joint engagement at the Royal Cornwall Show.
After the exit of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Waleses are rallying for the Edinburghs to fill in the gap especially after the bitter rift with the Sussexes.
The update comes just days before Sophie is set to a big appearance for a royal engagement.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that she will attend the Community Brain Fashion Show at RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival, Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey, on Monday.
