Govt completed unprecedented projects: CM
Says some political elements out to stop development
LAHORE
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said a lot of work has been done for energy projects during the last three years under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-N. Shahbaz Sharif said public welfare projects were limited only to files in the past whereas projects completed by PML-N government in the country are unprecedented.
He said work is being carried out expeditiously round the clock on energy projects in the country and thousands of megawatt electricity will be added to national grid with the completion of energy projects during next two years. He said the government is not only setting up energy projects from its own resources but power stations are also being established under CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) which will remove darkness.
The opponents will become tired of doing protest politics but we will complete the journey to selfless service of people, he added. Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government is setting new records of service to people. He said federal and provincial governments have set a bright example of public service by saving 215 billion rupees in development projects. He said sincere efforts made by PML-N government will bear fruits to rid the nation of loadshedding and energy crisis and a safe, peaceful and prosperous country will be handed over to the coming generations.
But, some political elements are out to stop development of the country and prosperity of people for their vested interests, he added. He said these are the elements as caused a great loss to the country and the nation through politics of protest. He said those doing the politics of sit-ins should know that conscious people will not allow to create hurdles in the way of journey to progress and prosperity. He said those who pushed the country into darkness in the past do not like Pakistan’s journey towards light and those who looted hard earned money of poor nation do not want welfare of deprived segments of society. He said that those involved in loot and corruption during dictatorial era did not take practical steps for riding the people of problems. He said those getting their loans of billions of rupees waived off committed great cruelties to the nation and the country. He said time has come to recover every looted penny of the nation from the looters and debtors. He said the plunderers and defaulters will have to be brought to justice for development of the country and changing the lot of the poor people. He said nations do not develop only through slogans rather hard work has to be done for the development of the country.
