MoU signed on demand driven courses

Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Pakistan Association of Automobile Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) to start demand driven courses for the auto engineering sector.
According to a press release, under the MoU, short courses, including sheet metal, casting, machining, jnjection moulding, blow moulding, forging and quality inspector will be started.
The MoU was signed by Chairman Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and PAAPAM Chairman Mumshad Ali on Tuesday.
Irfan Qaiser said Tevta would design, develop, update and provide curricula and learning resources for the training. He said that due to its importance and huge business volume in the sector, auto engineering sector was also one of the important industries in the country but no course was started in the past for this industry. He added that in this connection, the MoU would be helpful in providing trained manpower to this sector.
The curricula for the training will be jointly developed by both organisations. PAAPAM would impart practical training while examination and certification would be provided by Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE)/Trade Testing Board (TTB).
Mumshad Ali said Tevta would be assisted in the execution of proposed projects according to the MoU, adding that TEVTA would also be coordinated in design and development of curricula for technical training agreed upon for the project. He said placement of merit based students after completion of the training courses at a wage up to Rs 20, 000 would also be ensured by the association.
