ISLAMABAD: Former Australian batsman Stuart Law has been offered the job of head coach of Pakistan national team.
PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan during a media talk in Lahore following the Governing Board meeting confirmed that the name of head coach had been finalised. “We are not announcing the name as first we have to take the aspirants in confidence before announcing his name,” the PCB chairman said.
‘The News’ learnt that Law, who is serving with the Australian team, is the one PCB has finalised.
If Law rejects the offer, Andy Moles (UK) will be next in line.
The PCB chairman, meanwhile, confirmed that the BoG had decided to form two committees. “There will be two separate committees. The Cricket Committee will consist of cricketers while there will be a separate Domestic Committee,” he said.
Najam Sethi, head of PCB’s Executive Committee and Pakistan Super League (PSL), termed the inaugural edition of the league as great administrative and financial success. “We have achieved more than we estimated prior to the start of the PSL. It was an instant success from viewers’ point of view. On financial front we have achieved three million dollar more than we had estimated,” he said.
Sethi said that the PSL organisers would take existing franchise owners in confidence before adding a sixth team for the second edition.
