RIS celebrates International Forest Day

Students of Roots International Schools (RIS) attended the ‘Save Forest’ conference. Students were enthusiastically involved in the deliberations that aimed at awareness and importance of forests in our life.
Students through flamboyant portrayals conveyed the message to audience that trees and plants are very important for humans' endurance and also correspondingly important to animals and other living existences. The event was arranged by CDA in a well-known university and catered top notch notables from Ministry of Environment.
Roots International Schools promotes awareness in students about the nature and the eco system.
Roots has initiated RIILP which is an Innovative Learning Program that highlights on evolving an understanding of the earth as a physical system and the living environment including human and societies within the landscape. RIS has engrossed some basic modes of inquiry, critical thinking and problem solving skills and accentuated to shape an ability to interpret and synthesize information in this course.
This one of its kind initiative that incorporates an understanding of the ideals, principles and practices of citizenship in order to participate in resolving issues. The aim of this initiative is to preserving genetic, species and ecosystem diversity. Ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, both now and in the longer term, promoting action to reduce pollution and the wasteful exploitation and consumption of resources and energy.
