CHITRAL: A senior official of the district police has vowed to clean society from crimes and provide justice to the people in the district at all cost.
Talking to The News here on Monday, the District Police Officer (DPO) Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat said that the law-enforcement agencies in the mountainous district of Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had always faced threats and attacks by the militants hiding in Afghanistan.
He said that the police and other law-enforcement agencies had been striving hard to maintain peace, curb crimes and terror-related activities in the district.
He said that the police would leave no stone unturned to ensure security to the lives and properties to the peace-loving people of Chitral district.
“The Chitral people are peaceful and cooperative, but the elements sneaking from other areas and districts always disturb peace and create problems for the locals and law-enforcement agencies”, he maintained. He said that the two-day conference recently held in Peshawar with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani in the chair, the DPOs were directed to wipe out crimes and maintain peace at their respective districts.
