PESHAWAR: The Khyber Scouts and newly elected members of the local government distributed cash and prizes among 22 position-holder students of matriculation examination in Malkandher area of Regi Lalma on Wednesday.
A large number of students, parents and newly elected members of the district and town from UC-42 attended a ceremony in this respect. Speakers congratulated the position holders. The elected members said that they would provide social and economical support to the poor and orphan students.
They appreciated the Khyber Scouts for promotion of education in the backward areas. They said Khyber Scouts also played an important role in natural disasters and militancy incidents. Khyber Scouts Chairman Shahid Khan appreciated the elected members for their support. He said Khyber Scouts was playing key role in time of need and calamities. District Council member from UC-36 Mujahid Khan, Union Council Nazim Muhammad Jamil and Zafar Khan also addressed the distribution ceremony. Cash prizes, stationery and shields were distributed among 22 outstanding students, including three girls.
