ABBOTTABAD: At least 21 senior doctors, including 10 associate professors and nine assistant professors, were promoted in Ayub Medical College (AMC) Abbottabad, a notification said Saturday.
It said the long-awaited meeting of selection board of Ayub Medical College was held on December 26, 2014, with Secretary Health Mushtaq Jadoon in the chair. The selection board has promoted 10 associate professors to the rank of professors, including Dr Muhammad Asif (ENT), Dr Rehan Ahmad (Medicine), Dr Saleem Afzal (Medicine), Dr Jehangir Khan (Medicine), Dr Tariq Mehmood (Physiology), Dr Irfanuddin Khattak (Surgery), Dr Mukhtar Ahmad (Surgery), Dr Mohammad Akbar (Surgery), Dr Ali Fawad Naazar (Pathology) and Dr Umar Hayat (Interventional Cardiology).
The nine assistant professors, who have been promoted to the rank of associate professors (BPS-19), are Dr Syed Kamran Aamir Rizvi (Dermatology), Dr Haq Nawaz (Pharmacology), Dr Rubina Shaheen (Anatomy), Dr Iftikhar Ahmad (Forensic Medicine), Dr Syed Javed Shah (Endocrinology), Dr Zulfiqar Ali (Ophthalmology), Dr Jamila Farid (Pathology), Dr Mohammad Idrees (Pathology) and Dr Ahsan Aurangzeb (Neurosurgery ). Syed Sartaj Ali Shah has been promoted to the rank of deputy director administration (BPS-18) while senior stenographer Sajid Sheikh has been promoted as superintendent (BPS- 17). Eight assistant professors and 11 lecturers are also appointed.
