This refers to the editorial ‘Vertical expansion’ (March 14). The editorial talks about a much-needed caution that the government must take before the launch of the ambitious housing plan. Mortgage-related financial disasters have severe damageed the economies of a number of developed countries in the recent past.

While PM Imran Khan has rightly decided to move towards vertical expansion to save agricultural land, the issues of repossession, mortgage, recovery of loans, and legal requirements need an in-depth analysis.
