Education plays a key role in the progress of a nation and a society gifted with zealous and talented youth ultimately achieves its goals and gets its rightful status in the comity of nations, said Major General (r) Noor Hussain.
According to a press release, addressing the parents day and annual prize distribution ceremony of Uswa College, Islamabad, as chief guest on Saturday, Major General (r) Noor Hussain lauded the services rendered by Uswa College, Islamabad, saying that these efforts are highly valuable for the new generation.
He said the nation needed rapid and holistic progress in all modern and scientific fields of study. He expressed his deep satisfaction that Uswa College, Islamabad, was making efforts in this regard.
Presenting the annual peport on the occasion, Principal Brigadier (r) Ghulam Ali said that Uswa College, Islamabad, had always been among the prominent academic institutions of FBISE on GPA basis. In the last academic session, 40 out of 51 students of the SSC class got A+ grade, 8 got A grade and 3 B. On the whole, the college secured sixteenth position out of 941 institutions in FBISE. In FSc, with 34 students in A+ and A grade, the college stood 22nd out of 440 academic institutions.
The chief guest gave away prizes to all position-holders and other winners of curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
It was the occasion of the 8th Parents Day of Uswa College, Islamabad. The ceremony comprised March Past, PT display, Karate and Gymnastics. In all these events, the students made a superb and impressive show with their marvelous feats. A special band of Police College, Sihala, also attended the ceremony. The honorable guests were presented the literary magazine 'Uswa' and a newsletter brought out by R&D Cell of the college.
A Science and Arts Exhibition was also arranged on the occasion which boasted of beautiful and extraordinary models of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Social Sciences. The Aeromodelling Club of Uswa College displayed a number of attractive models. Books and magazines published by Uswa College, Islamabad, and other institutions and publishers were also put on show in the college library. The guests took great interest in all events and activities, warmly appreciating the skills and efforts of the students.
The ceremony was presided over by the chairman of Jabir Bin Hayan Trust, Sheikh Mohsin Ali Najafi, and attended by a large number of students, parents and other honorable guests along with the members of BOG, VP Syed Muhammad Naveed Haider, faculty & staff members and Old Uswains.
