The Millennium Olympiad 2015 concluded at the RCI Millennium Campus, Sector I-9/3, on Sunday, says a press release.
All students and organisers were fully charged and highly motivated to take the event ahead on the concluding day.
Over 1,000 students from all over Pakistan who participated showed enthusiasm and dedication in their respective categories of competitions. While everyone was absorbed in nonstop entertainment and nail biting contests, everybody around subconsciously could feel the heat and thrill. Thrill was in the air and heat was rushing through the veins. It was really heart-warming to see that everyone had fun and was united under one banner; to share ideas and explore out of the box. That is what Millennium Olympiad 2015 is all about.
Speaking on the occasion, RMS Chief Executive Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq said: “We came up with the idea of holding Roots Olympiad to stimulate interactive learning among the youth. Students are provided numerous exciting opportunities to prove their abilities and skills and think both critically and creatively.”
The competitions on the second day included gaming, live art, fashion show, debates, quizzes, live entertainment, music bands, chess, filmmaking and photography.
Gaming saw a thronging number of students eager to show their skills. As many as 30 teams comprising more than 200 players competed in the event.
The live entertainment was pumped with stand-up comedy, mouth-watering ‘khao’ competition, blistering music, tongue twisting, beat-boxing and singing.
In the debate competition, the judges were awestruck and impressed by the speakers and noted their enthusiasm for reasoning. Despite some of the members being new at the debates, they still proved that they have the potential to grow.
In a bid to encourage brainstorming, The Roots Olympiad arranged quiz and chess competitions. The quizzes were designed to test general knowledge ranging from entertainment to politics while chess was an ultimate test of analysis and intuition.
