Punjab decides to extend dates for exams

In the wake of nationwide efforts against terrorism, Ministry of Education and all nine education boards in Punjab have decided to extend the dates of primary, middle, matriculation and intermediate annual examinations.
A formal announcement will be made in second half of January. According to Punjab Examination Commission, board examinations of 5th and 6th grade scheduled to be held on February 4 are now likely to take place in the last week of February. Matriculation examinations, due on March 2, have been extended for two weeks. Likewise, dates of intermediate examinations have also been extended.
Decision regarding new schedule of matriculation and intermediate examinations will be taken next week in a meeting of chairman of Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Sargodha, and Bahawalpur education boards.
