Govt approves 26 uplift schemes

The Punjab government on Tuesday approved 26 development schemes of various development sectors at an estimated cost of Rs 27.872 billion.
These schemes were approved in the 13th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of ongoing fiscal year 2015-16 presided over by Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Irfan Elahi.
According to a spokesman for P&DD, Provincial Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, members of the Planning and Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
The approved development schemes are strengthening the Programme Management Unit (PMU) for the Punjab Resource Management Programme (PRMP-II) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 576.515 million, Punjab Economic Opportunity Programme (PEOP) at the cost of Rs 8783.970 million, Rehabilitation and Mechanisation of Government Livestock Farms (LES: Khushab, LES: Shergarh, LES: Jugaitpeer, LES: Fazilpur, LES: Rakh Ghulaman at the cost of Rs 343.142 million, Feasibility and Designing for Development of Recreational Resort along River Indus at Attock Khurd (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 9.112 million, Rehabilitation of Trimmu-Sidhnai Link Canal (Controlling Seepage/Water-Logging Along (T-S) Link Canal at the cost of Rs 2521.000 million, Hiring of Consultancy Services for Monitoring of Projects under Provincial Development Programme (for period from 01.09.2009 to 30th June 2016) (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 950.492 million, Hiring of Consultancy Services for Monitoring of Projects under the Provincial Development Programe (for period from 1st June 2016 to 30th June 2019) (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 1275.985 million, Extension / Rehabilitation of Urban Sewerage Scheme Gojra, Toba Tek Singh at the cost of Rs 400.000 million, Extension / Rehabilitation of Urban Sewerage Scheme Kamalia City (Phase-II), T.T. Singh at the cost of Rs 360.000 million, Laying of Lateral and Branch Sewer in Shadipura Lahore at the cost of Rs 338.835 million, Restoration of Original Cross Section of 40 ft. of Sattukatla Drain from Ferozepur Road to PECO Road Lahore at the cost of Rs 698.000 million, Rehabilitation / Improvement of Rawal Road from Airport Road to Chandni Chowk Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs 449.415 million, Extension of Water Supply Distribution Network to Un-Served Areas of Faisalabad at the cost of Rs 548.400 million, Improvement / Rehabilitation of Sheikhupura Road from Nishatabad Overhead Bridge to PTCL Exchange Sargodha Road Faisalabad at the cost of Rs 300.000 million, Establishment of PMU & CIU for Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Programme (PICIIP) (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 302.000 million, Construction of road from Qadirabad to Pindi Bhattian via Chak Chatha length=63.75 Kms, District Hafizabad at the cost of Rs 615.352 million, Dualisation of Muridke Narowal Road from km 0.00 to km 42.00, District Sheikhupura (length=42.00 km) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 2823.618 million, Widening / Improvement of Road from Jalalpur Jattan Shahbazpur Road Head Marala via Chopala length=17.21 Kms, District Gujrat at the cost of Rs 226.104 million, Topographic Survey and Geotechinical studies for land sliding Zonization of Murree Hill area mainly located between old Rawalpindi-Murree road and Islamabad Murree Expressway, Murree. District Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs 59.930 million, Construction of Infrastructure of CTD Punjab: Construction of Regional Office CTD, Faisalabad at the cost of 348.792 million, Construction of Infrastructure of CTD Punjab: Construction of Regional Office CTD, Gujranwala at the cost of 313.628 million, Construction of Infrastructure of CTD Punjab: Construction of Regional Office CTD, Multan at the cost of Rs 333.506 million, Construction of Infrastructure of CTD Punjab: Construction of Regional Office CTD, Bahawalpur at the cost of Rs 356.506 million, Construction of Infrastructure of CTD Punjab: Construction of Regional Office CTD, D.G.Khan at the cost of Rs 251.027 million, Construction of Signal free Junction at Azadi Chowk Lahore (Revised) at the cost of Rs 4501.580 million and Non-Formal Education Promotion Project with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the cost of Rs 185.646 million.
