LAHORE
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab Organiser Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar expressed concern over using the Kissan Package as political bribe in the upcoming local government elections by the PML-N government. He said the PTI was united under the leadership of Imran Khan and struggling for changing the status quo in the country.
Addressing a meeting of the party leaders on Friday, he said no party was more sincere and loyal to the cause of farmers than PTI. It was the PTI that sided with farmers during their protests and held conventions for them across the country, Ch Sarwar said. We were part of the struggle that led to the announcement of this package; however PTI was only against using this package for political mileage in the LG elections, he maintined.
He also severely criticised the move of the Punjab government to buy vehicles worth two billion rupees in the name of Kissan Package and said it was sheer injustice to farmers.
He told the participants of the meeting that the party was collecting evidences against rigging in the by-elections and would expose the reality soon. We have awarded tickets for the LG elections on merit to deserving and hard-working candidates who once elected would do their best for the public, he said.
Our fight is to get the country ridden of corruption, plundering, malfunctioned electoral system, inflation and unemployment, he said and added that such a fight was destined to succeed.
