Punjab University (PU) Institute of Agricultural Sciences organised a workshop on “Next Generation Gene Sequencing (NGS) and its Applications”.
PU Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan, Director IAGS Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Haider, Dr Muhammad Saqib from Plant Biotechnology Research Group VLS, Murdoch University, Australia, faculty members, and a large number of young researchers were also present.
Dr Muhammad Saqib highlighted that the NGS was a state-of-the-art technology which was going to be used in studying agriculture, plant sciences, animal sciences, and health sciences. The gene sequencing can also be used for betterment of yield, protection, and cure, he added. Dr Naeem appreciated the efforts of IAGS in the field of agricultural sciences and shed light on the importance of this technology for Pakistan and said that Punjab University could provide a platform not only for Pakistani scientists but also for the rest of Asia.
exam: Punjab University (PU) has started the registration of B.Ed private examination 2015. The candidates can submit the registration forms till May 11, 2015 with single fee of Rs 2,750 while the registration forms with Rs 4,500 can be submitted till the commencement of examination. It is clarified that a candidate, applying for the private registration of B.Ed, must be an employee of any government educational institution, board, and any institution affiliated with the Education Department having more than two years of experience.
