Pakistan to support Saudi Arabia: CM

Says Islamabad ready to play its role in political settlement of Yemen issue

CHIEF Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the entire Pakistan is united in the support of Saudi Arabia and every step against the sovereignty of Saudi Arabia will be faced jointly.
He said the people of Pakistan considered protection of Harmain Sharifain their obligation and that stability of Saudi Arabia was the stability of the Muslim Ummah.
Talking to media, here Friday, Shahbaz Sharif said Saudi Arabia was not only a brotherly country but a most important member of the Muslim world. Pakistan is ready to extend all-out cooperation on the issue of Yemen in the light of United Nations resolution. Saudi Arabia supported Pakistan in every hour of trial and how Pakistan can forget Saudi cooperation. The chief minister said Pakistan is ready to play its role for political settlement of Yemen issue. He said the cooperation and solidarity with Saudi Arabia had been announced in unequivocal terms in the parliament resolution and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has declared in very clear words that we are standing with Saudi Arabia.
He said his visit to Saudi Arabia had been very successful and a warm welcome was accorded to Pakistani delegation. He said positive talks were held with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal and Deputy Crown Prince and Interior Minister Mohammad Bin Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz. Replying to a question, he said that during his visit to Saudi Arabia, Saudi Foreign Minister said in clear terms that no force could harm friendship of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and we wanted to protect a legitimate government in Yemen. Replying to another question, the chief minister said Saudi Foreign Minister, Deputy Crown Prince and Interior Minister opined that Saudi Arabia did not want to put Pakistan in any difficult situation and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would be welcomed in Saudi Arabia. He said that during his visit, both ministers of Saudi Arabia gave a message of goodwill for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and inquired about his wellbeing.
Chinese envoy calls on CM: Consul General of China in Lahore Yu Boren called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, here Friday. Matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations and promotion of cooperation in different sectors between Pakistan and China were discussed.
Talking to the Chinese Consul General, Shahbaz Sharif said Pakistani people were waiting to accord a warm welcome to Chinese president during his visit to Pakistan.
He said that agreements of investment of billions of dollars would be signed during the visit of Chinese president to Pakistan. He said that great cooperation of China in energy, infrastructure, transport and other sectors was commendable. Chinese Consul General Yu Boren said that China attached great importance to its relations with Pakistan and would continue to further promote cooperation in different sectors with it.
Saad: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, here Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said the PML-N government was implementing an effective strategy for coping with the terrorism, poverty and energy crisis.
He said that electricity generation would be started from various energy projects by the end of 2017. He said a new era of Pak-China friendship would usher in as a result of the visit of Chinese President. He said energy crisis would be resolved with the cooperation of China.
