A daycare centre was inaugurated at University of Engineering and Technology’s University Teaching Staff Colony on Monday.
According to a press release, Punjab Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, she said the chief minister had established the Women Development Department to improve the socio-economic position of the women adding quota for women in the government sector would be increased from five to 15 percent.
UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid said UET faculty was fully contributing to the nation building. It was informed that presently about 36 children of the varsity’s staff were admitted to the Daycare Centre.
