LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has urged the government to resolve the issues of paper and packaging industry, as high utility prices and increase in paper prices are posing challenges.
Talking to a delegation of Corrugated Cartons Association, LCCI Senior Vice President Khawaja Shahzad Nasir and Vice President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigal said utility and raw material should be provided to the industry on cheaper rates, since the high cost of doing business was one of the major obstacles being faced by the industries.
The delegation members informed the LCCI office-bearers said that production cost would have to be reduced, or otherwise various factories would have to close down their operations. This, they said would lead to further unemployment.
