A MOTHER of seven was strangled allegedly by her paramour in the Liaquatabad police area on Monday.The deceased was identified as Lubna, 38, a resident of Malika Wala Chowk, Asif Street.The victim had been living in a rented quarter with her seven children for the last few months.

 

A police officer said the victim had married with one Rauf and after separation, she contracted marriage with one Shafiq, who also divorced her two years back.He said the victim had developed relations with one Saleem Masih of Bank Stop last month. He added she and her paramour quarreled with each other over some issue on which the accused person strangled her and escaped after locking the quarter. He said neighbours heard the sound of children crying and tried to open the door.

 

Local also informed police..Police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of the deceased’s brother Muhammad Kazim and shifted the body to mortuary. The accused person is still at large.

 

FOUND DEAD: A 25-year-old man was found dead near Centre Point park, Gulberg, in the FC College police Chowki area on Sunday.The deceased was identified as Arshad Masih, a resident of Saint Merry Colony, Gulberg.

 

A police duty officer said that the victim’s family members told police Arshad’s friends gave him intoxicated substance on which he fell unconscious. He said that police reached the spot and shifted him to a local hospital where he died. Police have registered a case against unidentified persons on the complaint of the deceased’s brother and removed the body to morgue.

 

KILLED: A 50-year-old woman was killed by a speeding truck in the Baghbanpura police limits on Monday.The deceased was identified as Bashirian, a resident of College Road, Shalamar. The victim was on her way with her son Irfan on a bike when a speeding truck hit them near Baghbanpura police station and the driver fled by abandoning the vehicle.

 

As a result, both suffered critical injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital where Bashirian succumbed to her injuries while the condition of the other victim was stated to be out of danger. Police have impounded the vehicle and registered a case against unidentified driver.Police have handed over the body to her family.

 

FIRE: Valuables worth thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes as a fire erupted in a cotton shop in the Mozang police area on Monday. According to an official of Rescue 1122, cotton and other items worth thousands of rupees were destroyed in the shop of one Amjad Ali near Safanwala Chowk. He said the cause of the fire was short circuit.

 

Firefighters extinguished it after hectic efforts.

 

No casualty was reported.

 

Girl falls to death: A seven-year-old girl died after she accidentally fell down from the rooftop of her house in the Manga Mandi area, police said on Monday.

 

The family told police that the girl, Zainab, was playing on the rooftop of her house when all of a sudden she slipped and fell down. She sustained head injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

 

Police have handed over the body to her family.Meanwhile, a man, Muhammad Qasim, who had suffered injuries in a road accident the other day, died. He was injured in a road accident in the Raiwind police area and was admitted to hospital on Sunday.
