In a yet another shuffle in the party’s coordination committee, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday announced to have appointed senior activist Nadeem Nusrat as acting convener of the committee, whereas Amir Khan was made senior deputy convener.
The decision was taken at a combined meeting of the party’s London and Karachi committees and was ratified by MQM chief Altaf Hussain. The meeting also focused on bringing in members who could effectively deal with the party’s day to day politics, besides also discussing the current political situation.
Claiming the committee’s failure to run party affairs properly, the CC was dissolved after four members, Dr A Qadir Khanzada, Advocate Gulfaraz Khattak, Aslam Shah and former zonal in-charge Shabbir Qaimkhani, were removed from the committee in the month of July; however, three members, Kaif-ul-Wara, Abdul Haseeb and Arif Khan were instructed to carry out the committee’s responsibilities.
