Senior officials of the paramilitary rangers visited MQM leader Abdul Rashid Godil at his residence and inquired after his health on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by the Sindh Rangers, the officials presented a bouquet of flowers to the MNA, who came under attack near his residence in the Bahadurabad area on August 18.
He was hit by several bullets when a man riding as pillion passenger on a motorcycle shot gunshots at his car. His driver died in the attack.
The Sindh Rangers officials also assured Godil of providing security when needed, the statement said.
The MQM leader was discharged from Liaquat National Hospital on Friday afternoon, almost three weeks after surviving an attack near his home.
“He is improving and in very good condition,” said the spokesman for the hospital, Anjum Rizvi.
He said Godil’s wounds were fast healing but he would have to visit the hospital for regular check-ups.
In a video message posted on social media earlier this month, the MQM leader thanked people who prayed for his early recovery.
