KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Ufone have agreed to provide NBP financial services and Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan (PMYBL) to Ufone customers, a statement said on Tuesday.
Under the agreement, Ufone will provide SMS notification portal, banking initiatives, salary transfers, loan repayments and renewals, pension disbursements and NBP contact center services to its users.
Group Chief, National Bank of Pakistan, Mudassir Khan said, “Ufone has a wide consumer base that can benefit from the PMYBL scheme if the awareness is created and the application procedures are made easier.
Irtiza Kazmi, the Coordinator for PMYBL, said the initiative will also benefit people who live in rural areas and need small loans for businesses. Mobile financial service will also make transfer of salary easier for government employees.
