HARIPUR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Liaqat Baloch said on Saturday that the US should accept its defeat in Afghanistan and pull out all its forces from the war-torn country.
Speaking to reporters, Baloch said that the prevailing chaos in the entire region was due to presence of US forces
in Afghanistan and the peace could only return once the
occupation forces left the region.
“US forces could achieve nothing except more destruction in the war-torn Afghanistan and further stay is not in the interest of Americans themselves,” he added.
He also urged the government to expose the Indian-sponsored terrorism in the region and pressurise the world for playing role in the freedom of Indian occupied Kashmir.
About the policies of the federal government, the JI leaders said that its priority was only to annoy the citizens by one way or the other.
“No one can expect relief from the state and its rulers who are more interested in personal gains,” he said.
Talking about the long-awaited project of Kalabagh dam, Baloch said that there were several other projects like Dassu, Munda and Saiwan dams in Sindh that could be completed as their feasibility reports have been compiled.
He said that if the government was really sincere in overcoming the energy crisis, it could better complete construction work on these projects.
To a question regarding political uncertainty, the JI leaders attributed it to what he called incompetency of top leadership. Earlier, Baloch distributed cheques among 40 needy families and each cheque for Rs25000.
