MANSEHRA: The police Tuesday claimed to have seized a suicide jacket and explosive devices near the house of a terrorist who had been arrested a day earlier.
Deputy Inspector General of police Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur said the jacket and explosive material had been placed at a plot of land next to the house of Umar Hussain Shah who was arrested after he allegedly killed a man and injured a cop in College Doraha area on Monday. A police team recovered the jacket, improvised explosives devices (IEDs), two daggers, ball-bearing, and mobile set from the plot, he added. He said the explosives and jacket could have been used in a terrorist attack but the prompt action taken by the police foiled the terrorists’ design.

The sources said that Mohammad Shahid and Umar Hussain Shah were members of a banned outfit and the latter shot dead the former with the help of his accomplice after developing differences.
